“All the vendors I talked to had a good day,” said Wanda Haworth, the market’s marketing chair.

“[Saturday] was one of the best opening days ever, with a good attendance and various vendors and quite a few more to come as we head for the Victoria long weekend.”

The market, she added brought a lot of “U.S. tourists and visitors from Europe, which proves that there are a lot of travelers in town from other parts of the country and the world.”

The market’s membership includes about 40 vendors this year, providing local produce and fruit, baking, homemade crafts and projects, wine and other local items.

It returns every Saturday through the end of September from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. In July and August, a second market will be held Wednesday evenings.
