The Oliver-Osoyoos Branch of the Okanagan Historical Society is inviting interested South Okanagan history buffs to attend the branch’s Annual General Meeting April 3.
The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the lower level of the Osoyoos Anglican Church.
Among scheduled activities is a presentation by historian Walter Lemke on the History of the Osoyoos Fire Department. Mr. Lemke plans to highlight stories from the department’s earliest days to the current development of the new fire hall.
The Okanagan Historical Society is one of the oldest societies in British Columbia dedicated to the preservation of local history.
Incorporated in 1925, the society has published a book each year save during the Great Depression and Second World War.
