How’d you like to attend a concert that included Garth Brooks, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash and even the late great Roy Orbison?
Yup, so would we. But since we don’t have that kind of a budget, we’ve got the next best thing.
Music in the Park kicks off its 2016 season Saturday evening with Chilliwack-based Steve Hillis.
The versatile performer has made a living for more than 30 years delivering tribute shows across Canada and the United States that feature some of the biggest names in country and contemporary music.
“I’m probably best known for my Garth Brooks,” Steve said by phone Thursday afternoon. “For the show in Osoyoos, I’ll also be doing some Neil Diamond, Elvis and Johnny Cash.”
He adds an element of fun to the show by engaging in costume changes on-stage, allowing audiences to figure out who’s coming next.
And, to add even more fun, Steve will be taking requests from the audience. Have a favourite “great” performer? Steve will do his best to oblige.
Steve Hillis is the first in a series of nine weekly free concerts at Gryo Park. The show gets rolling at 6:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, your best friends — and your boots!
There’ll be dancing, y’all.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
