Some people in Osoyoos are making life too easy for crooks, prompting a reminder from local RCMP to be more careful.
It comes after Mounties were called Jan. 7 about the theft of a 1992 Ford pickup, which was parked with the key in it outside a home on Cottonwood Drive.
The truck was found two days later with the key still in the ignition.
“A suspect has not been identified and due to the condition of the interior of the vehicle, police were unable to gather forensic evidence,” RCMP Sgt. Jason Bayda said in an information release.
“It appears this was a crime of opportunity and very easily could have been avoided had the vehicle been left secured.”
