The nightlife returns this evening to the Osoyoos Desert Centre.

The Osoyoos Desert Society opens another season of Desert Night tours tonight, welcoming visitors into the pre-twilight world of desert creatures.

The guided tours allow visitors to experience the magic of the desert at night. The evening includes a walk along the Desert Centre’s 1.5-km elevated wooden boardwalk and access to the inside scoop on the desert’s “wild” night life.

That includes fascinating facts about the many nocturnal animals that call the habitat home and what can be done to protect them.

The tour begins at 7 p.m. at the Desert Centre, located about 3 km north of Osoyoos on 146 Avenue.

Additional tour evenings are July 10, 17, 24 and 31 and August 7 and 14. Admission is $10 per person. Advance registration is required. Visit for more information.

The Osoyoos Desert Centre is a 67-acre nature interpretive facility where visitors can learn about desert ecology, habitat restoration and conservation of endangered ecosystems in the South Okanagan.
