Coyotes host Posse in exhibition opener

Hockey fans in Osoyoos can get a first measure of the 2017-18 Coyotes this evening as the Yotes play host to the Princeton Posse.

The exhibition contest is the first of two home and home games; the second goes tomorrow evening in Princeton.

The puck drops tonight at 7 p.m.

The Coyotes will be represented by about half of the 35+ players invited to training camp, which hit the ice Thursday evening and continues through Monday.

That contingent includes a dozen or so of the expected 14 or 15 Coyote returnees from a team that went 37-8-1-1 to win the KIJHL’s Okanagan Division regular season title last spring.

A notable exception is Cody Allen, who is off fighting wildfires in the province’s northeast. He’s not expected to return until late September.

Several other Coyotes are also away from camp, still working to make Junior “A” clubs in B.C. and Alberta.
