Coyotes play in Osoyoos and Oliver this weekend

Osoyoos Coyotes are back on the ice this evening for the start of a two-game weekend set that has them doing a little travel of their own — even as they host both matches.

The Coyotes (23-8-1-1) will meet the Princeton Posse this evening at Sun Bowl — the usual 7:35 p.m. start. They go into the game tied with Summerland for top spot in the Okanagan division.

On Sunday, the Yotes play their annual afternoon game in Oliver, hosting the Steam (23-9-1-1). Game time at Oliver Arena is 1:35 p.m.

The Posse come into tonight’s game with a four-game losing streak. Princeton has yet to win in the new year.

Osoyoos could be without several key players as they enter the weekend. Team captain and leading scorer Judd Repole is listed as day to day as he nurses a leg injury and Cody Allen is also questionable.

The Yotes will also be without Carter Shannon, who was suspended for six games after an incident last Friday evening against the Posse. He can next play on January 27.

The Coyotes have added a new defenseman to the line-up with the acquisition of Sunil Sahota from the Columbia Valley Rockies. The Coyotes gave up forward Cameron Welch to get the 6’0″ 185-lb 18-year-old from Merritt.
