Forum, meet-and-greet scheduled
for municipal, school candidates

Town of Osoyoos voters will have a chance to hear from nine Council candidates and two others looking to sit in the mayor’s chair at an all-candidates forum Oct. 9.

And regional voters will also have an opportunity to meet and greet school trustee candidates at a more casual event  tentatively scheduled for Oct. 16.

The municipal candidate event, organized by The Osoyoos Times, will go at the Sonora Centre between 6 and 8 p.m.

The event will be moderated by South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce’s Veronica Vinge.

On Oct. 16, the trustee candidates event — organized by OsoyoosToday — will go from 5:30 to 7 p.m. It will also be held at the Sonora Centre.

Three candidates — incumbent Casey Brouwer and challengers Penny Duperron and Brenda Dorosz — are hoping to fill two Okanagan Similkameen School District Board of Trustees seats.

The election is scheduled for October 20.
