Joanne Schaffrick, an Assistant Community Librarian at the Osoyoos branch of the Okanagan Regional Library, talks opportunity with a local mom and two eager children.

A night out, some great deals and a good look at what’s going on in the community.

Why wouldn’t you want to drop into the Sonora Community Centre for Participate Osoyoos?

The annual event — formerly known as Mass Registration — is scheduled for September 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The drop-in offers a little program browsing, with representatives from various community groups available to answer questions about what they provide and to get you signed up.

“Right now, I have 11 groups confirmed, but there are a few groups that haven’t confirmed that I know they usually end up coming,” said Program Supervisor Sarah Dynneson.

All right, so maybe that’s not quite enough of a draw. So, let’s talk cash.

The evening kicks off early-bird registration for various programs offered through the Town’s Community Services department.

You can also purchase annual passes for the Sonora Community Centre and receive 30% off the regular price.

The Annual Passes allow access to select recreational programs at a reduced cost in addition to accessing the drop-in sports, drop-in fitness classes, weight room and squash courts.

How good are the deals? Well, an annual adult pass would usually run you $273.50. On September 11, though, you can get that same annual pass for just $191.45.
