Pushing forward with its goal to reach the “pinnacle” of accommodations service, Spirit Ridge at Nk’MIP will have a new person at the top this spring.
The Spirit Ridge owner Association (SROA) today announced the appointment of Daniel Bibby to the position of General Manager/Executive Director of Operations.
“We are thrilled to have retained a proven motivational leader who shares our passion for exceptional guest service and quality of facility,” said Delwen Stander, Chairman of the SROA Board.
“We fully expect Daniel to build a strong team of engaged and empowered people to take Spirit Ridge at NK’MIP Resort to the pinnacle we desire to achieve.”
Mr. Bibby comes to Spirit Ridge at NK’MIP Resort from the Delta Grand Okanagan, a Delta Hotels property located in Kelowna, BC, where he served as General Manager for more than eight years.
He has extensive resort management and hospitality experience that also includes senior positions at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Delta Lodge at Kananaskis and Delta Vancouver Airport. Daniel also holds the position of Chair for Tourism Kelowna.
He is expected to build on efforts undertaken by Mike Campol of MJC Hospitality Solutions Inc. to help the resort realize its full potential as a five-star property.
Mr. Campol will continue his contract with SROA to secure a partnership with a professional resort operator — another of the resort’s aspirations — and assist in Mr. Bibby’s transition.
“Mike, with the Board of Directors, was instrumental in helping the owners gain full ownership and control of this world class resort,” said Mr. Stander.
“Since 2011, Mike has taken on many roles, including General Manager, Property Manager, Director of Operations and currently, Special Consultant to the Board.
“The Board of Directors wishes to recognize and thank Mike for his relentless effort and commitment to bringing Spirit Ridge at NK’MIP Resort where we are today.”
Mr. Campol expressed his unreserved support for the Board’s decision to employ Mr. Bibby.
“I am excited to pass the torch to a man who has more than proven his abilities in the Okanagan at a very high level,” Mr. Campol said.
“I now feel even more confident that Spirit Ridge will take its rightful place on the world stage.”
Spirit Ridge at NK’MIP Resort is nestled on the slopes of Anarchist Mountain in the South Okanagan, adjacent to the resort community of Osoyoos.
Its 226 adobe-style one-, two- and three bedroom condo suites are surrounded by desert sage and rolling vineyards and embrace the rich culture of the resort’s First Nations surroundings.
