OES students — all 340 of them — on stage this evening

Young voices. Shy Waves. And plenty of snapped photographs.

The Osoyoos Elementary School holiday program is on stage tonight.

“Every student is involved in some way, shape or form,” said OES principal Dave Foster of the 330+ students at his school.

The program this evening features the “Christmas Play” and lots of Christmas music.

“We don’t even have a name for the play,” said Mr. Foster. “It was written by one of our new drama teachers — Michelle Johnson — and we just call it the Christmas Play.”

A baker’s dozen of students will put an OES twist to the holiday season, appearing as Santa, some of his elves and reindeer.

“We’re going to have our Band 6 and Band 7 playing Christmas songs,” Mr. Foster added. “And we’ll have students coming up to the risers to sing Christmas carols.”

The school bands will perform under the direction of Helen Wollf.

Even the school’s Hockey Academy students will be involved.

“This year they’re singing All I Want for Christmas is My Two front Teeth,” said Mr. Foster. I think they might be blacking out their teeth, something fun.”

The concert is scheduled for 6 p.m. this evening at the Sonora Centre.
