It’s as sure a sign of spring as the first twinkling stars signal night approaching.

The Osoyoos Golf Course is opening its Desert Gold Course Friday.

The 6,500-yard 18-hole course is one of two at the club, located on the community’s west bench. The complementary Park Meadows course is expected to within a few weeks.

The community with Canada’s warmest welcome also offers spring golf at early-season rates that will knock the socks off your woods.

For $60 (actually $59.95), you can enjoy 18 holes of golf, a cart rental, and a warm-up on the range — taxes included.

The carts have to stay on paths, but otherwise, tees and greens are open. And, if you’re wondering about the weather, a high of 10 is predicted for Friday, with even warmer temperatures (high teens) through the weekend and into next week.

The club is also offering an early-bird $449 deal for one month of unlimited play through March and April.

The month-long special is a great way to warm up and tune your game for league play, which is scheduled to start in early April, or the Rattlesnake Men’s Open — slated for April 28-29.

Inside, the Greenside Bar & Grill will also open for business on Friday, opening from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily.

To book tee times, call the Pro Shop at 250-495-7003.
