Osoyoos Women's Network Society Executive

Lorraine Martin and the Osoyoos Women’s Network group have accomplished a lot since October.

The group is now officially an incorporated society, has a website and is on Facebook. It has an executive board receiving lots of inquiries about the organization.

“This is not just for business owners. It is for women looking for personal growth as well as for women who want to develop their skills and careers,” said Lorraine. “There is so much potential to learn from each other at our events.”

Lorraine moved here from Saskatchewan last year and started the group based on a similar women’s network she belonged to in Regina. She took on the role of group coordinator here in Osoyoos and is excited about the momentum the Women’s Network has gained and the opportunity it provides to women in Osoyoos.

Membership is $100 for a full calendar year; currently, it is prorated to $75.

A La Carte luncheon meetings are held at Troy’s Grill from 11:30 – 1:00. They also have Evening Mixers at member businesses. These events include a short hostess presentation about what encourages and excites them in business, the challenges they’ve overcome or sharing some wisdom they’ve learned along the journey.

Lorraine added that “We are a good fit for women who want to move forward with their life with passion and enthusiasm.”

The next Evening Mixer is scheduled for May 22 at 5:30 pm. The hostess for the event is Leanne Scott, owner of MOVE Therapies at #101 – 7611 Spartan Drive. Please call 250-495-3134 or 250-408-4846 to register.

You don’t have to be a member to attend – just pay $10 at the door to help cover the cost of refreshments.
