RCMP investigating targeted Walnut Beach stabbing

Osoyoos RCMP are investigating after a dispute of some sort Monday afternoon got out of hand and led to a man being stabbed.

Police were called to the Walnut Beach Resort around 1:40 p.m. and found the 25-year-old man suffering from suspected stab wounds. The man was transported to hospital with what RCMP believe to be “non life-threatening” injuries.

“We know that it happened in one room, we know that they both knew one another,” said Sgt. Jason Bayda, the detachment commander. “People that we have identified, we were already familiar with them.

“It was a targeted event and the public is not at risk in anyway.”

Osoyoos RCMP are asking anyone with information about the event to contact them at 250-495-7236 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
