Less than two hours after providing a “public service advisory” announcing the South Okanagan General Hospital’s emergency department would be closed for much of Tuesday, it delivered a “Never Mind.”
“Physician coverage has been secured for tomorrow,” wrote senior communications consultant Karl Hardt just after 6 p.m. “South Okanagan General Hospital will be open normal hours. No interruption.
“Please disregard the PSA sent earlier today.”
Abut 90 minutes earlier, the IHA had indicated the emergency department would be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday due to a lack of physician coverage.
It also said it regrets the interruption to “our normal emergency department services” and apologizes for any inconvenience the temporary closing may cause.
