If you’re a fan of face-searching amid the crowds for family, friends — or even yourself — you’ll want to tune in CBC TV next Tuesday evening for the Mercer Report.
Host Rick Mercer will be detailing —in his own special way — his travel to the South Okanagan and participation in the Festival of the Grape, held in Oliver October 1.
The backdrop for his national television program, which garners more than a million viewers weekly, is a sea of happy South Okanagan faces.
Rick, of course, does a little grape stomping, mingles with the FOG crowd and also found some time to showcases NK’Mip Cellars at Spirit Ridge.
By the way, if you’re interested, Rick also travels through the historic Rideau Canal from Smiths Falls to Ottawa, operating locks along the way.
Rick has made several other visits to the Okanagan for filming. In January 2015, he visited Penticton and did a bit about competitive skipping. In October 2013, he attended a paramedic academy in Kelowna.
Launched in 2004, the weekly half-hour show is known for Rick’s rants and news parody. Mr. Mercer has announced this season will be his last.
Rick Mercer Reports airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC.
