Two basketball Rattlers
off to BC all star events

Navraj Brar is taking his game to the BC all star competition this weekend in Surrey. Joining him is Kolby Wikene.

Two Osoyoos Secondary Rattlers are off to Surrey this weekend to participate in year-ending BC high school basketball all-star competitions.

Kolby Wikene and Navraj Brar were nominated and selected to represent the school at the annual event, which features two all-star games involving the best male basketball players from across the province and three-point and dunk competitions.

“We’ve had one player invited before, but never two,” said Rattlers head coach Casey Brouwer. “As a coach, I am so proud of these two players. Both have shown great athleticism and commitment to the game.”

The Rattlers fell short in their bid for provincial play this season, finishing amid the pack in a tough Okanagan zone that featured the eventual provincial champion Kelowna Christian.

Wikene and Brar will play in the 1A vs 2A game, which goes at 5 p.m. at Semiahmoo Secondary School in Surrey. Brar will also compete in the three-point contest.
