Finch Cres. improvements add to motorist headaches

More shovels will be in the ground for the next six weeks as Osoyoos works its way through the spring construction season.

This time, though, the inconvenience will be limited to Finch Cres. near 74 Ave.

Oliver-based Mike Johnson Excavating was engaged by the Town of Osoyoos to upgrade water service and repaving of the south end of Finch Cres., a project that is expected to continue through the middle of May.

Inconveniences during this period will include limited access along Finch Cres. and the occasional water interruption.

The contractor expects to provide 24-hour notice whenever a water interruption is required. It will also endeavor to keep Finch Cres. closures to a minimum.

Osoyoos is currently experiencing improvement headaches elsewhere in the community.

Main Street between 85 St. and Spartan Ave. is currently a construction zone as an improved storm sewer system is installed. Meanwhile, improvements to the water system north of Osoyoos has heavy equipment working on 87 St.
