NDP Leader plans Saturday stop in Osoyoos

John Horgan, the leader of the provincial New Democrats, will be in Osoyoos Saturday to meet local residents and chat about housing and education.

Mr. Horgan, MLA for Juan de Fuca, will be visiting the community as part of a four-day tour of the Southern Interior.

“John Horgan is in the area to hear from people about the growing problem of housing affordability, and to talk about the need for stable, predictable and adequate funding for public education,” said Brent Humphrey, Mr. Horgan’s Communications Director.

“John loves to spend time in the Osoyoos area, and I know he’s looking forward to touring a local vineyard and meeting people at the Farmers’ Market.”

Mr. Horgan will be at Troy’s Grill (8309 – 78 Ave) between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. to talk about education.

He plans to tour the Moon Curser Vineyard between 11 a.m. and noon, then attend the Osoyoos Market on Main between 12:15 and 1 p.m.

  1. Excellent! On the topic of affordable housing, it is my sincere hope that he will address the ongoing (10yrs and counting) pressures, punitive measures and financial burdens being levelled on the low-income residents of Willow Beach Mobile Home Park as yet another Developer is determined to evict 30+ families with NO adequate recompense for the loss of their homes, NO local relocation arrangements, and NO available, affordable housing options. I look forward to speaking directly with him on this matter.
