Smoke damage closes Gyro Park washrooms indefinitely

Smoke damage to a bathroom unit at Gyro Park will keep the washroom facility closed indefinitely, the Town of Osoyoos said this morning.

“We haven’t had an adjuster down, we don’t know when it’s going to get cleaned up, so we have no idea,” said Town administrator Barry Romanko, adding smoke damage is not something Town of Osoyoos staff would not deal with.

The fire, in the men’s washroom area of the Gyro Park service building, was discovered around 7 a.m. January 29. RCMP also discovered spray-painted graffiti near the public washrooms and concession area.

RCMP are asking anyone who may have information about this crime or recognizes the graffiti tags to call them at 250-495-7236 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
