Yotes back on top with win against Summerland

The stars are in the firmament. The snow is soft upon the ground. And the Osoyoos Coyotes are back on top.

Yes, folks, the world is as it should be.

The Yotes (21-8-1) scored a 3-2 win over the visiting Summerland Steam (20-9-1-1) last night to finally catch their South Okanagan rival and take sole possession of first place in the KIJHL’s Okanagan division.

Cody Allen, Sam Reinbolt and Colin Bell each scored for the Yotes, who led 1-0 after 20 minutes and 2-0 after 40 minutes. Bell’s game-winner came with 5:12 remaining in the third period.

The Coyotes now have a chance to pad that one-point lead against North Okanagan Knights Sunday afternoon. That game is scheduled to start at 3:05 p.m.
