A great opportunity to see the Okanagan River channel while getting a good workout just got a little better.

Baldy Mountain Resort is lowering entries fees for its first Baldy Marathon, scheduled for October 1 between Oliver and Osoyoos Lake.

The entry fee for the marathon is now $139, down from $200. The 20K fee is $99 and the 10K race will now cost you $79.

Included in the Baldy Marathon entry is one full admission to the Festival of the Grape, a commemorative Baldy Marathon t-shirt, finisher medal, plus access to the roving shuttle race-day transportation operating both to and from Oliver and Osoyoos.

Baldy is promoting the race as a one-of-a-kind course, complete with “soothing sounds of the water, mature trees and calling birds” and a flat route with limited time spent on roads or pavement.

The event also includes free kid fun runs for youngsters aged three to 12 and race lengths of 500 and 750 metres and one km.
