Coyotes to open 2016-17 KIJHL season in Revelstoke

Osoyoos Coyotes will open their 2016-17 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League season on the road September 10 — travelling to Revelstoke for a game with the Grizzlies.

The Coyotes, who easily won the Okanagan Division regular season title last season before faltering in the playoffs, have four games on the road before they finally return to the friendly confines of Sun Bowl Arena.

The Yotes play in Kamloops against the Storm Sept. 16 before visiting the defending KIJHL and Keystone Cup champions 100 Mile House Wranglers the following night. A Sept. 23 date has them in Summerland to play the Steam, the team which ousted them from the playoffs in March.

The Sun Bowl will finally see some regular-season KIJHL hockey Sept. 24, when the Coyotes host the Storm.

The Coyotes open their exhibition season less than a month from today, hosting the Princeton Posse for two split-squad afternoon matches. Grand Forks Bruins visit the following evening. The Coyotes end the regular season with two games on the road, the first Aug. 31 in Princeton and the final game Sept. 2 in Grand Forks.
