Young curlers from four South Okanagan Curling Clubs are invited to join a South Okanagan Junior Curling League forming to allow junior curlers the chance to learn the basics, play more games and improve their skills.

The fun all kicks off with a Junior Curling League fun day this Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Osoyoos International Curling Club.

This fun day session is open to junior curlers aged 10 to 17 who are members of CurlBC. (If a curler attended a curling program last year, they are considered a Curl BC member. Otherwise, a new registration is just $15.

The session will be run by volunteer coaches who will lead a warm up, split the curlers into teams and run a couple of fun mini games.

At the fun day, there will be opportunity to find out more about the league and to organize teams.

Curlers from Osoyoos, Oliver, Penticton and Summerland are invited to participate in the junior league.

Games will be scheduled every second Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. starting October 16. Games will be scheduled in all four communities and will rotate based on availability of sheet time.

Each team will need a volunteer coach. The coach will be responsible for the behavior and actions of the team on and off the ice.

League play is meant to be fun, not competitive. Estimated Fees for each curler are $100.
