Penticton foursome takes top men’s bonspiel prize

The 2018 Osoyoos Men’s Bonspiel is in the books — this edition won by a Penticton foursome.

Skip Cy Gladish, with Matt Tolley (third), Jason Larence (second) and Al Pratt (lead) won the bonspiel’s ‘A’ championship Sunday afternoon.

The ‘B’ final winners were the Abrey team from Summerland, including Steve Favel (lead), Art Lappalainen (second), Tyler Jaeger (third) and Dale Abrey (skip)

The “C” final was captured by the Anglehart team from Chilliwack. The foursome is comprised of Mike Veenbaas (lead), Eric Johansen (second), Andre Anglehart (skip), Al Vanderveen (third) and James Franklin (alternate).

Twenty-four teams participated in the bonspiel, which provides a balance between curling play and loads of fun.

The bonspiel also included a complimentary chili dinner Friday evening, a Saturday banquet and a Draw to the Button contest sponsored by Nk’Mip Corner.

The next big bonspiel for the Osoyoos International Curling Club is its Ladies’ Bonspiel Feb. 9 – 11.
