Rattlers finish eighth at provincials

Osoyoos Secondary Rattlers will come home today with an eighth-place finish at the 1A Boys provincial basketball championships.

The Rattlers dropped an 89-83 decision to Bulkley Valley Christian this morning. That loss comes on the heels of a 83-75 setback to West Point Grey Academy last night.

Seventh-seeded Ron Pettigrew Christian is the Cinderella story at this year’s championship as they are through to the final after a 83-42 win over Saint Ann’s Academy.

They will square off against fourth-seeded Credo Christian in the final after their 62-57 win over top-seeded Kelowna Christian. The title game will be played at LEC Arena Bowl at 1:30 p.m.

In Boys 2A play, South Okanagan is playing in the ninth-place game this morning against H.J. Cambie. The Hornets opened the tournament with an 86-82 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas but followed up that setback with wins against Prince Charles and Delview.
