Boaters are being asked to turn off their motors next Tuesday evening and instead float over to the Osoyoos branch of the Okanagan Regional Library for a workshop on invasive aquatic species.
The library is hosting Don’t Move a Mussel!, a look at how invasive aquatic species such as Zebra and Quagga mussels are impacting the South Okanagan.
Boaters will learn about the challenges involved in preventing the spread of zebra mussels and what they can do to join the fight.
The August 30 event is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start. For more information, please call 250-495-7637.
