Yotes drop one on the road; at home tonight

North Okanagan Knights made a statement Friday evening — they’re not out of this yet.

Unfortunately for the Osoyoos Coyotes, that statement came at their expense. The division-leading Coyotes were 4-1 losers in Armstrong last night.

The Knights have lost just once in their last five games and have pulled to within five points of the Princeton Posse for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Okanagan Division.

The two clubs meet in Princeton this evening.

The Yotes, playing with just 14 skaters, ran into a hot goaltender in Zach Willms, who stopped 33 of 34 shots.

The lone Coyote to best Willms was Brandon Onstein, who did it eight minutes into the first period.

The Yotes were shut out from there.

North Okanagan led 2-1 after 20 minutes and added two more goals in the third.

The Coyotes are home this evening to the Chase Heat. The Heat did the Yotes a big favour last night, dropping the Steam 4-1 in Summerland. The loss keeps the Coyotes lead atop the Okanagan division at four points.

Game time at Sun Bowl is 7:35 p.m.
