Yotes drop tight match to North Okanagan Knights

Brady Marzocco’s powerplay goal with just over three minutes remaining was the difference Friday evening as the host North Okanagan Knights dropped the Osoyoos Coyotes 3-2.

Marzocco’s goal came at 16:23 of the third period with Kyle Rosolowski in the penalty box, serving a two-minute minor for cross-checking.

The late goal erased a small Coyote comeback.

After a scoreless first period, the Yotes spotted the Knights a pair of goals midway through the second before storming back with two goals of their own late in the frame.

Carter Shannon and Daniel Stone scored for Osoyoos. Judd Repole assisted on both goals and was named a game star.

The Knights outshot the Coyotes 26-22.

Osoyoos returns to action this evening, hosting the Summerland Steam at Sun Bowl Arena. The two clubs are tied for the Okanagan Division lead, although the Coyotes enjoy a game-in-hand.

Game time this evening is 7:35.
