It was a successful visit to the Similkameen yesterday for the Osoyoos Coyotes.
The Yotes (27-9-1-1) scored a 3-1 win in Princeton last night to open up their lead atop the Okanagan division to seven points over the idle Summerland Steam.
Carter Robinson, Connor Onstein and Brock Marple scored for the Coyotes, who led 2-0 after 20 minutes of play and 2-1 after 40 minutes.
Marple’s goal late in the third was the back-breaker, an unassisted effort with the Posse on the powerplay.
Daniel Paul stopped 35 of 36 shots to record the win. The Coyotes managed just 27 shots on Posse netminder Bobby Milligan.
The slumping Posse have won just one of their last seven games but remain solidly in fourth-place in the Okanagan division, seven points ahead of North Okanagan.
The Coyotes, meanwhile, are 5-2 in January and have won eight of their last 10 games.
The team travels Friday to Summerland for the first of two critical contests against the Steam (23-11-1-2). Game time at Summerland Arena is 7:30 p.m.
