RDOS plans gathering to share info
on Oliver-area flooding

Sportsmens Bowl Road residents Glady Morin, back left, and Brenda Walls get help with sandbagging from some friends and neighbours. They have since been evacuated.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen plans to sit down with residents and others Wednesday evening and talk about this year’s spring flooding.

The Regional District’s Emergency Operations team, along with representatives from the Province and other organizations, will be hosting an informational session beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Oliver Community Centre.

The event is open to the public and media.

Residents can expect to receive updates on the flooding, information on the protection plan for Park Rill Creek watershed, information on various support agencies available — including Emergency Social Services (ESS), and Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) — and  information from other agencies.
