It looks like the Easter Bunny has Mother Nature on his side for this weekend’s Eggstravaganza celebration.
The forecast for Saturday is for plenty of sunshine and a high of 17C as the Osoyoos community’s annual spring celebration looks to deliver the most fun a kid can have with a basket in his or her hands.
The day starts bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 8 a.m. Saturday with the Rotary Pancake Breakfast at Town Square. For a nominal donation, you can fuel up for the fun ahead.
From there, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., there’s fun for the whole family (but especially the youngsters.)
Features at the Town Square include a Bouncy Castle and Petting farm and a number of other activities.
At 11, the local Kiwanis Club will host its annual Bike and Trike Contest and hot dogs will be available courtesy of the Osoyoos Fire Department. Lunch is served with a small donation to cancer charities.
Of course, the big event of the morning is the Easter Egg Hunt, held in the Osoyoos Elementary School Yard at 10 a.m.
You don’t want to be late for this — the eggs go fast. More than 200 children will make quick work of the hidden 3,500 Easter eggs.
The fun is all courtesy of the Osoyoos Festival Society.
Everyone is welcome.
