Sports Writing, ap. 17 (EFE) .- The United States and Canada resolve their conflicts against Ukraine and Latvia, respectively, in the finals of the Billy Jean King Cup, with Spain, Poland, Italy, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.
The American team thwarted their rival’s reaction in Ashville. Diana Yastremska and Katrina Jadaska matched North American advantage with their victories and were all determined in the doubles division. Eighteen-time tournament champion Jessica Begula and debutant Asia Mohammed.
Winning the first two singles matches against Latvia in Vancouver created less uncertainty over Canada’s qualification. Leila Fernandez did not show interest, she defeated Daniela Wismane 6-2, 6-1. US Open finalist Heidi L. Tabaj led the team, which will be the highlight of the event.
