Chap has signed an agreement to supply marine giraffe AMB Navy radar antenna equipment to upgrade the Royal Canadian Navy’s Halifax-class warships. The contract also includes related equipment and spare parts worth over SEK 300 million order.
Upgraded Halifax-Glass warships based on customer demand to improve performance and maintain service life. Work in Halifax, Canada and Gothenburg, Sweden will begin this calendar year and continue until 2026.
“This order further strengthens our position in the marine giraffe radar market and continues the excellent partnership that SAP enjoys with the Royal Canadian Navy,” said Carl-Johan Berkolm, SAP Business Area Monitoring Chairman.
Marine Giraffe AMB is a multi-functional 3D surveillance radar system for naval applications. It provides simultaneous mid-range air and surface surveillance and is also capable of arm positioning. It is suitable for marine environments that require everything from coastal to blue water operations.
