NeNe Leakes She says she wanted to drop the hammer on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” years ago…but executives blacklisted her, making it very difficult to take any legal action.
We got NeNe at LAX on Monday, and she says her constant silence by Bravo kept her from filing her discrimination lawsuit for so long.
She tells us she’s gone from constantly working to getting nothing… Fans of the show know that NeNe has been the focus of “RHOA” for years, before leaving in 2020.
She hopes that her lawsuit will help put an end to discrimination against black women… and she believes that being summoned as a black woman with blonde hair is totally unacceptable.
As we reported, NeNe recently introduced in federal court in Atlanta, accusing the people behind the show of ignoring her complaints about years of racist remarks made her way by her co-star. Kim Zolciak Berman.
In the documents, NeNe alleged that Kim, who has not been prosecuted, made racially offensive and stereotypical comments about NeNe and Candy Burrows over several seasons.
She claims to have complained about Kim’s alleged comments to the executives behind “RHOA,” but says that Kim was not punished and instead was rewarded with her own series.
The documents say those behind the “RHOA” have violated federal labor and anti-discrimination law… and are prosecuting them for damages. The timing of the lawsuit is interesting — NeNe hinted back in November that she would return to the show, as long as some changes were made.
