Nightbirde pulled out mid-season ‘AGT’ – when she announced that she would focus on her health full time. She previously survived breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2017…but it eventually came back, and it came back in metastasis.
She said doctors gave her a slim chance of survival – only 2% – and the rest of her life was given a small window in 2019…just 3-6 months. Incredibly, she overcame those odds and was declared cancer-free the following year… only to have it back in 2021.
All things considered, she lived a lot longer than health professionals thought – she fought hard to survive, and eventually…gained audiences on “Got Talent” and beyond.
Judge “AGT” Howie Mandel She posted a touching note about Nightbirde, saying, “She has been such a shining, inspirational light in our entire lives. We must continue to live and learn from her words and her words. As appalled as I am about her passing, I feel so fortunate to have met her, heard her, and known her.”
Her story captivated America – during her first outing, she sang an original song, “It’s Alright,” which absolutely stunned the judges…making Cowell emotional and garnered a standing ovation from others, not to mention a rare golden whistle from SC himself. Obviously, she got the green light to go ahead – and reached the quarter-finals. She might have won the entire competition…if not because she had to drop out.
Unfortunately, her ‘AGT’ tour was cut short due to cancer… and she’s been mostly out of the spotlight ever since — giving a few interviews here and there, staying positive on social media and sharing her journey.

Unfortunately, Nightbirde has never been officially signed to a label and doesn’t have an album out – but she has some EPs and Singles Under her belt since her early years in the music world, when she was trying to break out into the Virginia mainstream.
She was only 31 years old.
