Coyotes fall to Steam in OT

Osoyoos Coyotes will look to get back in the win column after falling 5-4 in overtime to Summerland last night.

The Steam’s Bailey Tammings potted the winner with just 17 seconds remaining in the overtime period.

Although nine goals were scored, the game featured just three powerplays — and three powerplay goals (two scored by the Yotes and one by the Steam) — and 38 total shots (19 for each side).

The Coyotes Liam Aitken took the loss for the Coyotes, stopping 14 of 19 shots.

Sam Reinbolt, Colin Bell, Judd Repole and Austin Cleaver scored for the Coyotes, who trailed 2-0 after 20 minutes before evening the score of two unanswered goals of their own in the second.

The Coyotes host North Okanagan Knights this evening at Sun Bowl. Game time is 7:35 p.m.

The Knights have additional incentive as the season enters its last week. They trail the Princeton Posse by three points for the Okanagan division’s final playoff berth. North Okanagan also enjoys a game in hand.
