Osoyoos RCMP have arrested a woman who reportedly tried to force her way into a new mom’s home Early Wednesday.
The 45-year-old woman reportedly walked into a residence on 78 Avenue
and when confronted by the homeowner, asked to see her baby.
“The resident pushed the woman out of the door and the woman then allegedly grabbed a weapon concealed in her waist band forcing her way back into the house,” RCMP reported.
“The resident pushed the woman out of the door once again and reported the incident to Osoyoos RCMP.”
Initial attempts to locate the woman were not successful; however RCMP identified the woman and arrested her just after 1 p.m. Thursday.
She is in custody and will appear in court in Penticton Friday afternoon.
“We understand that this incident was very traumatic for this new mother,” said Sgt. Jason Bayda, Osoyoos Detachment Commander. “We are doing what we can to locate her and determine what her intentions were.”
