Town offers student work
for summer season

The Town of Osoyoos has a summer deal too good to pass up — student jobs in BC’s premier summer community.

The Town has student openings in three departments, with some jobs beginning at the end of April and others in June.

A student is defined as someone who is currently attending school, college or university and intends to return to school, college or university in the subsequent academic year.

The positions include:

Student Grounds Maintenance – Operational Services

Student positions are available beginning April 30.  A valid BC driver’s license is a requirement.  Experience in the operations of powered yard maintenance equipment is an asset.  This is a bargaining unit position with a present wage rate of $16.76 per hour plus 6% in lieu of benefits.  Deadline for resume submission is 4:30 p.m. on April 6.

Student Summer Program Coordinator – Community Services

An energetic individual is needed from June 4 to August 29.  Applicants should have previous experience working with children and a current First Aid Certificate.  Good organizational skills and training in High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development is an asset.  This is a bargaining unit position in conjunction with Human Resources and Skills Development Canada – Canada Summer Jobs, with a present wage rate of $20.57 per hour plus 6% in lieu of benefits.  Deadline for resume submission is 4:30 pm on April 27.

Student Summer Recreation Leaders – Community Services

Energetic, caring, individuals needed from June 25 to August 24.  Applicants with previous experience working with children, a current First Aid Certificate, High Five training and Swimming/Life guarding are encouraged to apply.  This is a bargaining unit position in conjunction with Human Resources and Skills Development Canada – Canada Summer Jobs, with a present wage rate of $16.76 per hour plus 6% in lieu of benefits.  Deadline for resume submission is 4:30 pm on May 25.
