Motorcyclist killed in Sunday morning accident

A man riding a motorcycle was killed this morning in Osoyoos after the bike he was riding collided with a vehicle emerging from a service station.

The accident occurred around 9:10 a.m., RCMP say.

Both the rider and the driver of the car were taken to hospital with injuries. The 26-year-old motorcyclist subsequently passed away.

Injuries to the driver of the car are believed to be minor.

The motorcyclist was a resident of Penticton. The 53-year-old driver is a resident of Osoyoos.

South Okanagan Traffic Services has taken conduct of the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact South Okanagan Traffic Services at 250-499-2250.
