The Osoyoos community’s popular family dance is back this Saturday.
A summer staple for more than 30 years, the family dance is now held at the Gyro Park bandshell.
The grassy location might grip your style a bit, but you can always get up on stage and shake your stuff with emcee Clint Hawes.
This is the second year Clint and family have organized the dance. Before that — for more than 25 years — it was a downtown tradition courtesy of the Sologuk family.
The Osoyoos Seniors Centre participated for three years before the Hawes took over.
Saturday evening’s event is the first of two family dances this season. The second is scheduled for August 19.
The hoofing gets started at 7 and won’t wrap up until at least 10 p.m.
Besides some great tunes and a whole lot of shaking going on, the family dance promises plenty of contests and prizes.
As always, the event is free of charge.
