Sports Writing, May 28 (EFE) .- Finland and Canada have qualified for the 2022 World Cup final for the third consecutive edition, beating the United States (4-3) and the Czech Republic (6-1), respectively. The semifinals were held at the Nokia Stadium in Tampere.
Reacting to the American team’s initiative, the Nordic team confirmed its position as the host of the tournament, which advanced in the first period and was leveled in the second stage.
Miro Heiskenen responded to Nate Schmidt’s opening goal, then Zachary Maninen put Finland ahead. Although Sean Farrell kept the United States in the game, the Finns were able to impose their superiority with goals from Sammy Watanen and Joel Armia, who only managed to cut it short and seal the final 4-3.
Canada were easy against the Czechs, with nothing to take the lead after eight minutes through David Krazy. It was a magic, and the North American camp responded strongly.
He equalized before the end of the first quarter with a goal from Dylan Gossans, and in the second he thanked Adam Lori, Kent Johnson and Matt Parcel. Cole Chillinger and Cossans put icing on the cake against a completely sad opponent in the third and final match.
Canada will defend the title at the Nokia Arena in Tampere tomorrow against a rival who won the final in Riga last year. The North American team leads the World Cup winners with Russia with 27 titles. The Nordics chase their fourth crown.
