A royal commentator said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face a ‘big test’ tonight with their Jubilee Gala at Buckingham Palace.
Columnist Daniela Elser claimed there had been “nothing vaguely like a really warm show of communication” from the royal family to Sussex so far during the jubilee festivities and that “the cracks are very visible in this weekend’s show of royal unity”.
The commentator said the “big test” would come on Saturday evening if Harry and Meghan attended the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace.
Writing for news.com.au, Ms Elser said: ‘If they have any hopes of enjoying a fresh injection of royal star dust and reminding the world that they are ‘beloved’ members of the Queen’s family, then they will have to feel very, very disappointed.
“The big test will come on Saturday evening, London time, when the younger members of the Queen’s family are expected to appear at the concert at Buckingham Palace.
Freed from the limitations and formalities of things like seat schemes and precedence, will we see the Sussexes tossing it in with their cousins?
“Will we see a slight thaw in relations between Cambridge and Sussex? Will we see something vaguely resembling Harry’s smile?”
