Poland’s Karolina Bilawska was crowned the 70th Miss World on Wednesday, as contestants and organizers expressed their solidarity with her.

Belusca, who works as a model and is studying for her master’s degree, took the title in the capital of Puerto Rico, San Juan, three months after the competition was postponed due to
COVID-19 outbreak. Miss USA, Shri Saini, took second place, while Olivia Yasi from Ivory Coast took second place.
In addition to the usual performances and live judging, the captivating ceremony included messages of support for Ukraine after the unprovoked Russian invasion of the country, which shares a border with Poland. In one of the clips, Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica, who won the Miss World title in 2019, sang Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli “The Prayer” as he was on stage and in the audience they held candles high.

Delayed After several people linked to the event – including 23 of the 97 riders – tested positive for Covid-19 just days ago.
Only 40 semi-finalists were invited back to Wednesday’s re-arranged event, which was hosted by English singer and TV personality Peter Andre and Mexican singer and actor Fernando Allende.
Preliminary competitions had already been held by that time, with Yacé the winner of the Top Model part being chosen for the Queen, Mongolian actor Burte-Ujin Anu winning the Miss World Talent content and Mexico’s Karolina Vidales named Miss World Sports.
