America extends its drought: Sweden-Canada, women final

The United States again exited the Olympic final. What is the world power of women’s football, the seven women who won four gold and one silver playing in the Olympics to date extends its drought. If they fall on penalties in the quarterfinals against Sweden in Rio, this time Canada, with a goal from eleven meters, knocked the North Americans out of the game. Vlatko Andonovski will fight for that bronze, the last hope, against Australia this Thursday (10am).

The final was played at 4am on Friday, with Canada and Sweden beating Australia to qualify, the highlight of the match, thanks to a goal from Barசாa player Friedolina Rolfo at the start of the second half. The Swedish forward is a key part of her team, scoring three goals in the four games she has played.

The Swedish team will try to win a gold they missed in Rio in 2016, when they lost to Germany in the final with a European accent. Canada could fight for first place after adding two bronze medals at the last two Olympics in Rio and London.
