Canada Qatar are unbeaten in a draw 0-0 in Kingston this Sunday in the CONCACAF qualifying round for the 2022 World Cup. JamaicaThis leaves North America in fourth place with 7 points.
Jamaica are in last place with 2 points from five games, behind Honduras (seventh), El Salvador (sixth) and Costa Rica (fifth). Canada is preceded by Mexico, the United States and Panama.
The top three finishers have a guaranteed place for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The fourth team, currently Canada, still has one more chance to reach the play-off World Cup.
The draw against Jamaica was Canada’s fourth time, with its only octagonal victory over El Salvador 3-0 in Toronto on 8 September. Canada have been tied to date with Honduras (1-1), USA (1-1) and Mexico (1-1).
In Kingston, neither the Jamaicans nor the Canadians could create good or numerous chances to open the scoring.
Canada’s best chance In the 60th minute Liam Miller put the ball in the same place as Jamaican goalkeeper Andre Blake, with all the goals at his disposal and unmarked.
As the Canadian team prepared to celebrate the goal, Blake wiped the Canadian’s shot with his hands and sent the ball over the crossbar to Miller’s frustration.
Blake’s performance denied Canada’s success, elevating Americans to the position of guaranteeing jobs in Qatar. Canada faces Panama in Toronto next Wednesday.
